Hi, not sure if this is the right forum but I’ve just moved into a rented flat and we only seem to get hot water if we put on the boost for an hour, I have attached pictures of the boiler and just wanted to check that the hot tap was actually turned on and all the valves and things are on the right setting. Any help would be appreciated!! Also let me know if any more info is needed.

You have an unvented Hot Water Cylinder there, not a boiler. Is the 'boost' an electric switch connected the cylinder? Do you only have electric heaters or other central heating? There are no settings or valves you need to worry about, that will be for a qualified bod, via your landlord to sort out. Check with your landlord that the cylinder has been serviced and can you see the schedule, should really be part of your landlord pack with the electrical cert etc.

Thanks for the reply, Ive put a picture of the boost in here, it’s the only way we get hot water so just wasn’t sure if anything was turned off or not? We have electric heaters and apparently under floor heating but we haven’t found anyway to turn them on.

Yes,, that's an electrical time control for the HW with boost function, you should be able to set the time when the HW will heat.

Methinks it's time for you to get in touch with your landlord. They should really provide you with a pack that gives all the required manuals or written instructions on how to work all the equipment in the house, if not they should at least explain it all to you.

How many consumer units / fuseboards do you have in the flat ?

Has your meter just been changed to a smart meter ?
