Hi Folks ,

Wondering if i can fix this and avoid the cost of a new appliance . Its basically filling and draining straight away does not enter a wash cycle .Trying it 100 times and on the odd occasion it works .

Things i do know it is filling and ive checked hose and for blockages its also draining outside fine so inlet and outlet is deffo correct .

Ive done a little investigative research and from what i can see it might be the solenoid valve sticking can anyone show me where about this might be and is it an easy replacement job .

Or does anyone have some other ideas like dont bother buy a new one. Cant remember how long we have had it it it might be 3 years or poss 30 lol .

Is there no error code showing? If there is no lcd display, sometime error codes can be deciphered from the sequence lights are blinking.

There are no error codes and both lights are flashing this usually means no water but i can assure you in this instance this is not it as i can clearly hear it filling up and hear the water going out the drain at the back ( so its filling ) it just skips the cycle .

Ok - I don’t have anything to add that the specialist appliance forums online won’t know. Other than my dishwasher broke a week ago and I googled how to do a hard reset on it and hey presto. Still going strong!(for now)!

The solenoid valve will be in line with the cold water input pipe, it's filling so unlikely to be that. The 'whitegoods' website is a good source of information on such faults and very helpful.

My guess - it fills with water, tries to move on to the heating water cycle, then spots a fault condition, so pumps out.

I think they meant it was the solenoid valve for the drain that is poss stuck on the open position so its pumping out .

I have never explored one, but would assume they work like a clothes washing machine - the drain doesn't have a solenoid valve, rather they rely on needing to run the pump, the pipe goes up then back down, trapping water in the machine until pumped.

Almost the same thing happened to our dishwasher, so we consulted some dishwasher expert to check on it.
