how do i know what kind of light i have?

I have a red reflector infrared heat light 250W, and i dont know if its and LED, HID, MH or flurescent or anyhting like that, i looked on the net and nothing helped. can anyone tell me anyhting? i wanna know if its good for growing

If your pot plants all die, then it isn't.

infra red is at the low end of the wavelength spectrum and therefore not in the section where discharge lighting tends to be, I'm not aware of any infra red lamp thats not tungsten.

Infra red lamps are good for growing animals, not plants.
