Hello lovely people. My washer is not draining due to a blockage. I believe it is a small piece of fabric as it went in the wash and didn’t come out :(. I have opened front hatch and drained machine and cleaned filter and coin catcher at the front of the machine (all clear). Having looked online, the second place to check is the grey concertina drainage outlet hose, but I can’t work out how to remove it from the machine. Any advice gratefully received. Thank you!

Thanks for the video. On upturning the machine, disconnecting the hoses and shining a light from inside the drum, we can see that the fabric piece is trapped between the drum and the casing, very close to the outlet but not reachable. If anyone has any other ideas I would be grateful, otherwise presumably we’ll need to get an engineer to dismantle the drum. Many thanks.

What is probably happening is that the bit of fabric is sloshing around in the water, when the machine discharges the fabric is drawn towards the outlet and blocks it?

Off the wall suggestion???

Take the machine outside, remove the pump [as video] place the machine upright and pour water into the drum.

Then hopefully the fabric will be drawn towards the outlet, possibly enough to let you get a hold of it and pull it out??

As stated a really off the wall idea, probably cheaper than the Engineer??

By any chance do you have any home white goods insurances in place? homeserve / utility suppliers offer such cover?

Ken.

One final thing?

Try to ensure that the connector for the pump is kept dry, if you opt to try the above.

OK obvious?? when you have the corrugated flexi pipe off make sure it is clear?

Some bent wire may assist in the removal of the fabric?

Ken.
