How to clean aluminium mesh cooker hood filters

Buy this degreaser

(I use it to clean bike chains and components, very effective)
Soak them for an hour or so agitating them with a brush.
Rinse them with boiling water, then dishwasher.
If they still smell, rub them with lemon, leave them for a couple of hours, then dishwasher again.

Dishwasher only works with regular cleaning and on the hottest wash cycle.
The Q&As say do not use it on aluminium.

Bush on soda and water as a paste. Leave for 24h. Bush on white vinegar and leave for a couple of hours then warm soapy water.
Can use soda from supermarket next to washing powder in green box or bag or bicarbonate soda in cooking section

Been using it for years on bike components which are mainly aluminium.
I have derailleurs of 40 years ago still functioning perfectly.
and still shiny and anodised?
