UPVC door requires key in order open/close the door.

It is annoying because if you leave the key inside and shut the door when outside, you get locked out.

Can anyone explain how you remove this feature and convert the door to a regular one which opens and closes without a key?

You have 2 spindles so that would suggest the lever handles are offset, one higher than the other, from memory the top spindle is connected to the inner handle and will open the door, the lower spindle only locks the door by way of lifting the handle, to push it down to unlock it doesn't do anything..........am I right? You will need a pair of handles that are inline and utilise the upper spindle, that connects the outer handle to the inner handle and should operate as normal

Yes, you are right.

You're a star.

Will give this a crack. Thank you.

Just do away with the lower spindle and connect the lever handles with a full length spindle
