How to fix a pergola to patio of brickwork/blockwork pavers and kiln dried sand
Thinking of getting 3m square pergola with a folding cloth top , The frame will be permanently fixed and then just the cloth removed over winter

On each of the 4 legs it has a small plate with 4 holes to fix to ground

Wondering what the best way to do this would be - I guess taking the section of blockwork out and then concreting, laying brickwork on top again , and maybe using some form of chemical anchor fixing and bolts - but maybe over thinking it

It will near the house - and we could probably uses some wood as spaces to come out the soffit/gutter distance - Bungalow and fix to the wall
Just not sure what to do at the other end

thanks

EDIT - this is a photo of the pergula thing , and although front of bungalow - exact same blockwork at back

The force of the wind under the canopy could lift the whole thing including the blocks its fixed to. Maybe fix it to a thick square of wood and weigh that down with sand, or in a deep planter filled with soil.

Or, use an Auger to drill a 6" diameter hole where each foot is going to be and fill it with concrete, with stainless bolts set into the concrete to fix the feet to. Not to pricey to buy an auger to make the holes required, and is much easier than digging a big deep hole and then putting shuttering in place. If you can get about 1 metre down then the bottom of the hole will be below the "frost line" and you will not get any frost heave from a cold winter.

Thanks for all the suggestions - we have decided NOT to ourchase this thing , for a few other reasons, when i went and took some accurate measurements it was NOT going to workout
so now we ar elooking at a much more expensive option , electric awning ..... which will be on brackets on the wall
