I'm renovating a small wc/shower room and I've removed the plasterboard on the ceiling (was just easier as I needed to access services etc). I am now in the process of installing some noggins so I can fix the new boards securely.
To the right of the room I have a small gap between joist and wall, and I obviously need to secure the edges of the board at appropriate centres. The issue here is that I cannot secure the other end of the noggin against the next joist as there is pipework etc. in the way.
Is the best way to do this just using a small offcut of wood and fix it perpendicular to joist, running to wall edge? It's not going to be holding much weight at all as I'll obviously use the joist as a fixing point for the boards.
Any advice appreciated, if there is a better way of doing it.
