How to put leak sealant in via Magna Clean?

A plumber fitted a Magna Clean for us recently and we now want to put leak sealant through the system (rather than fork out hundreds to pull all of our floors up to find a leak we have).

Can anyone explain the process to us? I.e. do we need to drain water out before putting the leak sealant in?

what boiler do you have ?leak sealer can damage most modern boilers and I wouldnt advise you use it on a modern boiler, good chance it will invalidate any warranty you have if it is a modern boiler
 
The boiler that we have is a Valiant Thermocompact - the warranty for it expired long ago...Thanks for the reply!
 
Why the need for the leak sealer? It can be put in via the magna clean though; you'd turn off both valves, undo and empty it, put the sealer in, and then refit it.
 
please do not do this cowboy repair, find the cause of the pressure drop and sort it, leak sealer is absolute crap and will do nothing except damage your boiler , anyone advising you to use this is not an experienced Heating engineer
 
Sorry Ian, I meant to say that is can be done, but it's a last resort, and the leak should be found first. Thanks for correcting my ommision.
 
@Doggit I never meant at any time that you were a cowboy, was just saying that this course is not the way to do it,have seen so many boilers completely ruined by leak sealer being added
 
If I can find the photos I'll show you what leak sealer does , I've seen less blockages in an old people's home. Hate the stuff, especially when you're the one trying to remove it .

Don't worry Ian, I never took it that way; it's just nice to get a polite correction when you don't get everything straight first time. There are those on here that will rip you to bits though if you make the slightest mistake, but I've never taken you to be one.

I would never advise leak sealer on a CH system.

Some have found it to work on car engines though!

Leak sealant is shyte where ever it's put ,

It's not fixing the problem but covering the problem, so the fault is still there and maybe just delaying the fault again but only worse to fix next time ;)
