My printer is playing up; could i get some help please

Issue is, (HP cartridges) report showed very low ink level
Installed compatible ink cartridges after the chip was moved to the new cartridges
Ink level report still shows very low level despite the cartridges being new.

Thank you for reading

As far as I know the only compatible ink cartridges for hp will be hp original cartridges. They design it that way to make a profit on ink rather than printer.

Never had any luck with third party cartridges for hp, they are always rubbish.

Your printer is laser so the "ink" cartridges actually contain toner.

The chip will be what keeps track of how many prints the cartridges have done and the level is merely estimated from this, the level of toner is not actually measured (by a sensor or suchlike).

If your printer supports it, you can disable the 'low toner lockout' in the settings so you can keep printing until the replacement cartridges are actually empty, although the printer will always show the cartridges as low or empty. You may have to log into the printers web interface over the network to change this setting.
