What is the purpose of expansion vessel, and how to check for any faults.
How do I check that pump is working, I have rotated the spindle, but that does not prove this is OK.

Do you mean expansion vessel? If so it is to take any expansion of water as it heats.

Check the pressure in the vessel is correct.
