Hi Everyone, we are moving to a renovated apartment in an apartment building, this building have an old intercom system using 2 or 5 wires and audio only (some old L.T. Terraneo panel).
The current audio only intercom indoor unit in the apartment is a really old Thorn tube device, I wonder what are our modern options to replace this old tube device.
Does any 2/5 wire audio only device can be used? even those without a tube? if yes I would like to get some recommendations.
note that there is actually 6 wires coming out of the wall, don’t have no idea what each of them control.

if you lived in the 80s and 90s you probably used them, but in this case I’m talking about the old intercom models, something like this:
Anyway you mean a handset ….is it in a block with other apartments if so you can’t fit any random handset ….it’s either a 2 wire system or a 4+1 ( 4 common plus a buzzer/ call wire )
