Thanks in advance for any help
I'm installing hive as per instructions on an older thread.
The stat had two wires connected, and a third I'm assuming is neutral that wasn't connected.
Connected the hive backplate including the li k between live and the first pin, but reciever doesnt come on when I put the power back on.
Have included pictures as they can explain better than I can.
Inside the boiler, it looks like the neutral grey wite is not connected. I think there lies my problem, but wanted to get
some advice before connecting anything.

It looks right as far as the wires at the Hive receiver go (assuming it's the single channel version you have) but the grey wire in the Hive N terminal will need to be connected to a neutral at its other end. The original thermostat was probably battery powered so didn't need a neutral connection. The Hive needs 230V so will need the neutral.

However. The cable at the boiler is a different cable from the cable at the thermostat, whilst it's quite possible their two grey wires are connected together somewhere, they might not be.

Thanks for the response.
Yes it's a single channel reciever. And the old stat was battery powered so didn't require the neutral.
It's a new build, and before buying there is an option to upgrade to smart heating. I'm assuming the grey wire is the neutral for the option of a non battery powered stat. I'll get a wire checker to be sure though.
