Insurance in restaurants

Does anyone know anything about laws, rules and regulations governing contractors carrying out repairs in a restaurant and associated kitchen?

i would imagine that the contractors, should they be liable, will need to submit their relevant p.l. details to the restaurant owners.

the restaurant owners will in turn be responsible for ensuring any contractors working on their premises are fully insured.

I used to manage a well known fast food place.

I always used to check public liability insurance was covered up to £2m.

'Busy restaurant, more chance of multiple claims' so my head office used to advise.
