I've bought an internal piezo sound bomb to use as an internal siren but it doesn't have any wiring instructions.

Suspect it's regarded as too simple to need instructions but I'm a novice. :(

Can anyone tell me if I should connect it to:

1. The panel speaker outputs?

2. The bell connections? (12v + Trigger?)

3. A panel programmable output? I think the o/p is switched -ve so guess I should connect to 12v Aux + output?

Thanks

Ok I was thinking that there was a way to restrict the panel speaker output to alarm only but I think I've just imagined it.

So are the other methods ok - connect to bell 12v & trigger and 12v & -ve O/P?

Is there a better way?

Thanks

most "modern panels" do not require an internal sounder as they use the speaker. being a speaker it can be used to give various indications, exit entry tone alarm tone etc

so the answer is no the best place is across the bell connections

EN50153 (ish ) requires an internal sounder - it is the speaker that is optional

a speaker is an internal sounder as well as (in most cases) notification of exit / entry.

besides you forget, this is a DIY forum, so long as the electrity regs are complied with, its fine

dont put yer speaker near your kitchen exit door then

LOL 800l chime - coming to an estate near you soon

but it is supposed to be near the exit door so you can hear it when said door is shut and you are outside

Or is it intended to make the noise so loud as to be un-bearably painful to to the burglar.

Oh no ...... Health and Safety would call that harmful to the health of the burglar......

its always been the dilema - annoy the neighbours or hear your alarm sets, much prefer to use strobe confirmation nowadays

loudspeaker chime imo is just too loud

I assume you really mean your panel is a Texecom Premier 24?

Wire it as follows

Program output 1 as area output 00 (alarm)

I suppose you could connect it between bell +12v and bell 0v terminals if you want.

You might as well make use of the output terminal though.

You are correct. I have used a diagram for a prem 48. Where I wrote 24 it was a typo.

I've wired it to the O/P triggered by the 00 Alarm event but it isn't being triggered by the Panic Alarm.

Does that mean I've wired the PA wrong or does "Alarm" not include "Panic Alarm"?
