Hi,
Every winter we start to get condensation on our windows overnight, not horribly excessive thankfully and it's fairly manageable.
I want to give the window sill a fresh coat of paint as the paint is starting to wear off year by year and it will end up exposing the bare wood, the paint does a good job at preventing the condensation droplets going into the wood thereby potentially rotting it etc. before being wiped off next morning.
Also realised there is a small about 1-2mm gap between the window frame and the sill all around (photos attached not visible well though)? I wanted to chalk it before applying the fresh coat of paint or even potentially using silicone (aware this cant be painted thereafter).
Wondering if there is a gap for a reason? The window frame itself is aluminium not uPVC.
Thanks.
