Can you advise whether it's OK to use push fit fittings on 15mm copper pipe behind plasterboard and tiles when fitting a thermostatic bar shower please ?

Normally I'd use Yorkshire soldered fittings but would like to use push fit in this instance if I can.

Thanks

I thought it was advisable to only use push fittings where they can be serviced?

Modern new builds are piped up almost exclusively in push fit. Loads of joints under floors there, and they glue & nail the floors down. What sort of servicing do you expect need doing on them?

just if they start leaking and need replacing.

True. But it was the advice I read here on DIYNot, somewhere, probably several years ago now.

Probably this

but could have been this

no, this one.

If it does start leaking, then some tips on stopping it leaking here:

Somewhere, I def read the best advice was to only use it where it can be serviced, eg. one run of plastic pipe from, one sink to another, so if it starts leaking you can access it easily. I've got some plastic fittings in my loft, which although I don't like, I can easily get to them. Of course, if they start leaking they will cause a huge amount of damage to my ceilings and anything in the rooms below ...

Some of those links will be from me for sure...pushfit couplers have moving parts, anything with moving parts can fail so I prefer to have them where I can get at them. Far as I know newbuilds use manifold design (so unskilled labour can throw tube through the shell) so minimum fitting count used and none or very few hidden.
To be fair the only failures I've experienced have been due to pipe not fully inserted, deformed (copper) pipe, wrong or missing insert. If you are burying them get the locking clips for them.
