Is it possible to adjust water flow using these screws?

Hi,

I have recently moved into a new house. The previous owner said that he had asked for the hot water flow to be reduced from the tap, as he once let a bath overflow and didn’t want to repeat this.

I can only see one isolation value which is fully open. Is there any way to adjust flow using the part of this tap in the image?

Thanks in advance

Assuming you know the picture is NOT of an isolation valve, you can get isolation valves with flow limiting inserts. These will normally always be fully open, but the insert limits the flow to a pre-determined rate. You can get inserts for different flow rates, and can change the insert for a different rate. Have a look at BES Item 17527. This does not come with the flow regulator cartridge.

Hi yes sorry the isolation valve is under the bath tub. The previous owner suggested that something had been changed with the tap to reduce the flow of hot water. For reference, the cold water tap (on the same tap unit) works with perfect flow/pressure.

Just looked at BES 17527. I think we have something like that under the tub but I’ve been told the flow restriction was on the tap level, nothing to do with a value.

I guess the best solution will be to get a plumber to remove the value from under the tub and see if there is anything there that could be causing it
