I’m looking at the possibility of moving a internal soil pipe outside. The soil pipe services an en-suite upstairs wc, shower and basin. Downstairs it services a shower which I intend to remove. The existing pipe runs down the middle of the house and out to an inspection chamber which is directly outside the upstairs en-suite.

So I would like to reroute all the upstairs services outside and reconnect to the existing inspection chamber with a new exterior soil pipe. The en-suite toilet is next to a dorma wall and I would intend to T an AAV behind the wall to ensure there aren’t any venting problems.

Is this possible? can I Put a t in a soil pipe for the Durgo valve which will go behind the dorma wall.

Any advice is appreciated.

please see diagram

Vent new pipe externally if all at possible (rather than using an AAV). Block off old pipe with concrete where practical, but ideally at the manhole to prevent Rodent ingress.

Hi thanks for your reply. I’m not sure I can get an outside vent pipe due to it being a dorma and that there is a velux window to the right of the proposed vent pipe. Can the vent pipe be reduced in size then follow the pitch of the roof and vent on the other side of the roof.

if I use an aav I'm I right in saying it should be positioned above the basin overflow? And that it’s ok to T it off from the horizontal soil waste as shown in my diagram?

Thanks for looking
