I've been looking around (and on-line) for uPVC roof line products (fascias, soffits and guttering). I've been to Eurocell in Birmingham and their stuff looks very good. However, it seems the highest cost of anything I've managed to find on line. Swish, Freefoam and Wickes all seem to be consistently ¾ of Eurocell's prices. Worst still, some of the ancillary bits like J trim and 70mm ventilators are double the price of the others!

Can anyone explain this? Is it simply the retail markup as they seem predominantly for the trade?

They’ll give you a different price if you go in and ask them. I pay quite a bit less than the online price and haven’t even got an account or anything.

Get some quotes from the other places for the stuff you need then go back into Eurocell and see if they'll beat or match the prices

If you are in Birmingham then go to the plastics depot in Sutton Coldfield. They stock the deeplas board. Loads better than the eurocell board and at a good price.

Now ironically eurocell own deeplas but they aren’t allowed to sell it. You can only get deeplas from a deeplas distributor and the plastics depot are the midlands distributor.

I'd be interested to know how Deeplas is better than Eurocell too.

Otherwise, FWIW, I've found Eurocell to be cheaper than anything else on line :-| This was specifically for black ash replacement boards though - obviously more expensive than capping boards and any colour other than white is at a premium too. Anyway Eurocell = £38.50 for a plain 5m board (18mm x 200mm), elsewhere £40+ for same and some are 16mm as opposed to 18mm thick.

Deeplas 16mm board is heavier than an 18mm eurocell board. Sometimes thicker isn’t better. Swish do a 20mm board because if they tried to make it 16mm it just wouldn’t do the job. People just assume Swish are good because they’ve heard the name when in fact Swish have about 3 variants, most are utter shyte.
