Its not lead but it does look as though its a modern reproduction - I say that because it looks too new.
Its probably a three piece assembly, retro-fitted in that position.
You can always find a buyer but for how much I haven't a clue.

If it was lead it would have melted by now probably meant "blackleaded" it's actually graphite paste -stick it on eBay.
