Hi all

I've ordered a summerhouse and I've been told by the company that it is advised to 'treat' it as soon as I put it up. They said I could use either an oil based or water based treatment.

I'm clueless as to the advantages/disadvantages of both so I asked what they recommended and they sell Rystix Timbacare but this is £95 a tin (and I'll need 2 or 3 tins of the stuff!).

I've found this on Screwfix...

And I wondered whether this would be suitable?

If not, could someone recommend a treatment that I could use for this? (Or am I best just biting the bullet and paying for the Rystix stuff?)

Thanks for any help you can give me with this.

:-)

When I lived in Liverpool I knew 3 carpenters, (not joiners but high class wood craftsmen). They would use no other product than Silka, be it stain, varnish or any other protective finish.
