It's OK to kill journalists

You start a thread talking about abortion law, without even clarifying that you weren't talking about UK abortion law or perhaps you didn't even know what it was.
I did mention UK law and French law.
Did you not see that? It must be the helicoptors that got in the way.

I can't mind read.
I thought you gave it a good go assuming what Ms Gay was saying.
Where is that evidence that you claimed would prove her antisemitism?

It's very obvious to anyone with half a brain that Hamas did not care about what Isreal would do to retaliate. Perhaps they might have considered the fate of their people. Its also fairly obvious that some want to blame jews for everything that is happening in Gaza and the Red Sea, and some are happy to call such hatred "free speech" and take no action to protect those people who are jews and have nothing to do with the Gaza war and Red Sea shipping attacks despite having a a duty of care towards them. I see no fake outrage over liz Magill resignation - is it because she is white?

So you won't say if you think it's wrong to kill civilians and take captives.

Why not?

You won't say if you think atrocities are justified when in response to earlier atrocities.

Why not?

I didn't think I had to acknowledge what any right minded person would think.
A poor argument on your part.

Again, what do you think Hamas expected to gain/happen.?

You don't think Palestine and Hamas (which I do not support) has been pushed in any way?

It's all 1 way ?

no of course not. Just as I don't think the atrocities of 9-11 could not be attributed to earlier actions of the US in a proxy war against (long list). But the people who were killed had nothing to do with it and the people doing the attacking had no regard for the retaliation that would result.

The October attacks were truly barbaric and apparently if the conspiracy theorists are correct, it was all an accident. They were only supposed to kidnap people. Unfortunately 1,200 people were killed and Isreal's leadership didn't see it coming.

If they had wanted him dead, he would be

Well I would not say they targeted him
Specifically he has said as much

However his car was fired on and his driver was killed he had to take cover along with his colleague

He questioned an Israeli general over the caper and his response was basically s*** happens in conflict

The tank crew were afraid / terrified conscripts etc etc the general said

So you cannot say that and accept Hamas is the only party at fault.

Sometimes reactions happen, that are not liked, or expected. But there are usually reasons.

Yes, it's a strange coincidence that so many unarmed civilians get killed in Gaza.

Especially journalists, being killed at a higher rare than ever before, despite wearing big signs

Even the people waving a white flag and calling for help.

Even children and babies

Even the hospital patients in ICU who die when power is deliberately turned off

Even ambulance crews

Even elderly women who step out of a church to use the toilet

It's almost as if it was deliberate policy to kill as many as possible.

I wonder why that could be?

I dunno why do you think it is ??

Do you have the same sentiments for Russian civilians on the border ?? With the Ukraine that have been killed ? ???

This thread is about journalists being murdered. You need to post on one of the Ukraine threads.

However, on the subject of journalists being killed in Russia and Ukraine, it it not remotely comparable to Israel's slaughter.

Glad I could help you.

"The group said 68 journalists had been killed covering the Israeli-Gaza war since Hamas attacked Israel on 7 October – more than one a day and accounting for 72% of all media deaths worldwide this year. It said the overwhelming majority of them were Palestinian journalists in the Gaza Strip, where Israeli forces continue their offensive.

“The war in Gaza has been more deadly for journalists than any single conflict since the IFJ began recording journalists killed in the line of duty in 1990,” the group said, adding that deaths had come at a scale and pace “without precedent”.

Ukraine also “remains a dangerous country for journalists” almost two years since Russia’s invasion, the organisation said. It said three reporters or media workers had been killed in that war so far this year."

Did not help at all

Journalists are civilians ?

Gaza is a small place and journalists are free to leave afaik

After all, they might report on what you're doing.

No John it's not alright to kill journalists. It's never OK from our point of veiw.

However your on the side of Hamas Iran and Russia. We know about the murders on October 7 by Hamas of people bwho didn't put themselves in harms way.

Iran Have a tendency of killing women just for putting makeup on or not covering their heads. I would imagine Iran have also knocked off the odd journalist as Russia have done so along with anyone who opposes Putin.

A few British journalists have been killed in action and as brave as I believe them to be they know the risks of reporting in war zones.

Here you are, @Odds

Murder of journalists by Israel is quite well known. Nothing new. It's intended to prevent news of atrocities, war crimes, racism and inhuman treatment being publicised. For the same reason Palestinians are not allowed to photograph or film Israeli forces committing crimes

I'm well aware of that since i've already posted several links on the matter - maybe you missed them.
