Hello all
I have searched these forums and youtube etc but cannot find anything..
Background: Shower is luke warm (HW to other places is fine)
Shower is about 8 years old and we live in a hard water area so I think thermostatic cartridge may be crudded,
Can't identify the exact shower type but it has Bristan written on the front.
The problem: I am struggling to remove the old cartridge and worried about breaking something..

I am pretty certain that I'm meant to use 1 in that pic to get the cartridge out, but there is so little to get purchase on that (turning anticlockwise and putting considerable force in) my adjustable spanner is actually causing the metal where the cartridge assembly meets the spanner to squash and buckle. (prob better terms - not sure of the lingo but hopefully you know what I mean)
Any tips appreciated. Thanks
