Just completed My First Paving Job

I have just completed my first paving job.

1. Cleared all the area lifted the old yorkstone and weeded completely

2. Marked out area for hardcore

3. Put down 3" of MOT Type 1 then compacted and fall created

4. Laid paving on a 50mm bed of 6:1 grit sand and cement

5. Pointed paving with 3:1 builders sand and cement

6. Put down decorative stone over weed block fabric

I hope you sold the yorkstone and didnt skip it??? would have paid for that job twice........ :(

I've just done something similar myself. Can you tell me how you did the pointing?

We pushed a mix of dry 3:1 sand/cement into the gaps and then sprinkled with a watering can. The problem is that a lot of it is coming up.

How did you do it wet without getting the mix all over the top of the slabs?

semi dry mix of 3:1 sand/cement pushed into gaps using pointing tool left to dry and its been fine no stains and its all staying down
