Could anyone give me some pointers as to what might be wrong with our Kenwood dishwasher, please? It appears to work normally - fills, drains and heats, but leaves a fair bit of residue on the crockery. I've tried pulling the outlet pipe off and letting it run into a bucket. There's a good flow when the pump runs to empty it. I've cleaned the filters too. If I set it to run and open the door after 10 minutes or so, the water inside is hot, but not scalding, and there sounds like there is plenty of it splashing around inside while it is running.

Avocet, good evening.

Can I suggest you change dishwasher tablets?

My son about three months ago, had a similar issue.

He changed to "Platinum" tablets, the issue went away, nice clean plates Et-All.

Are you putting some dishwasher powder in the pre-wash section of the dispenser?

Thanks all,

Just a follow-up. I ran a bottle of dishwasher cleaner through it and did a couple of the hottest washes. Changed to Platinum tablets. Seems to be clean again.

Fine particles on crockery are due to failure to rinse off food before loading , the pump then turns the food into fine particles which dry hard onto crockery during final heat cycle. Running a cleaning cycle can remove this but will return quickly if too much food is left on .
