Kitchen drop down ceiling for extractor

Hello,
Any advice on how to build a drop down ceiling to go above a kitchen island?

I want to build this in the picture below and fix it into the ceiling joists above.I’ve got a 1800x900mm piece of MDF cut already, plus all the other side pieces pre cut.

I’ve also got a load of 38x63 CLS. But what’s the best way to put it together?

Keep it as light as possible, just a bare frame screwed up into the joists with plasterboard rather than mdf which is prone to moisture ingress.

Thanks for the reply. Yes, the weight is an issue. I was advised to use Mdf for the main board as the extractor rests either side of the cutout (900x600mm so I lose quite a bit there). I’ve got moisture resistant board to help with that.
I was originally going to use plasterboard but I’d like to give it a go with the MDF as I have it now!

That’s what I thought! But that‘s what was recommended by the manufacturer of the extractor.
I‘m priming the moisture resistant board with Zinsser Bin and using Diamond Egshell so maybe it’ll be ok?
 
I made a unit over the stove, mainly MDF but the section over the stove holding the extractor was fire board.
