Kitchen tap cold water pressure too high.

My kitchen tap had a little wire mesh aerator/filter thing fitted to it (inside the nozzle) but it made the water flow too "smooth" and silent. I couldn't hear the hot water running and I was afraid that I would let sink overflow so I removed it and discarded it.

I am now finding that the cold water mains pressure is much too high. When I turn on the tap it splashes all over the place. Is there anywhere I can purchase one of these mesh filters or perhaps some other solution?
 
Don't you watch the sink filling?

Or are you blind? There are electronic level alarms available for blind people.

The correct solution is a flow restrictor plumbed into the cold supply pipe. Or even a pressure reducer.

No, I don't watch the sink filling. My hot water flow is slow. It takes a while to fill and while I am not blind, I am deaf.

I don't think I should have to restrict the flow when it was OK before I removed the filter/aerator thing from the tap?
 
Not sure why you wanted to remove the filter.

But if hot flow is slow then the last thing you should want to do is to restrict it further by fitting a filter.

The problem is cold pressure and that is what you should be addressing.

OK Agile, I meant that the hot water flow was not the problem. It is slow but acceptable and I am about to replace my boiler anyway.
