Kitchen Workers' Deaths

These saints were murdered plain and simple.

“The WCK team was traveling in a deconflicted zone in two armored cars branded with the WCK logo and a soft skin vehicle,” the charity said in a statement.

“Despite coordinating movements with the [Israeli army], the convoy was hit as it was leaving the Deir al-Balah warehouse, where the team had unloaded more than 100 tons of humanitarian food aid brought to Gaza on the maritime route.”

Wouldn't call them saints, but they were murdered.
(And it's over 200 aid workers murdered so far)

Just a shame that the same concern hasn't been shown about the tens of thousands of innocent people in Gaza who have also been murdered...

And before certain ignorant people make erroneous comments, the horror of October 7th was rightly reported...

But the horror of Gaza isn't being properly reported because journalists are not being allowed independent access...

Both Israel and Egypt are preventing it!

If only the Palestinian people hadn't elected Hamas...
Why did they elect HAMAS? Why would the West Bank vote the same way if elections were held?

:) If only filly could realise that Israel have never had much interest in a separate Palestinian state and have actively opposed it for a very long time.

If only geopolitics wasn't so interested in strategic reasons behind their reactions against things that should not be happening and even causing them at times.

Who cares?

Leave them to figure it out between themselves. Or not. Their problem.

I don't see why we should be roped into these matters when we have our own problems to deal with.

We sell them weapons to bomb the innocent Gazans and aid workers with. THAT kind of 'leave them to sort it between themselves'?

Irrelevant. We can sell somebody a car who then uses it to run somebody over. Not our responsibility.

The Gazans are no more innocent than the Germans or Japanese during the Second World War. They are a largely radicalised population who chose the lunatics who run their territory, and they support them. They celebrated, as did a fair few inbreds over here, when hamas went on a pre-modern gang rape and murder spree, which led to the current mess.

Frankly, I don't care how other people elsewhere choose to interact. They will settle their own scores. It's going on everywhere, all the time. There have been far more devastating wars going on for years in parts of Africa. You don't care, nobody is talking about it, the TV isn't giving instructions. Why is this one special? It isn't.

What I care about is this country, which is going to the dogs whilst morons are conned into focusing on the Middle East.

I think it obtuse that the 'lets ban weapons to Israel' would not stand up and protect them against Hezbollah, Iran and Iraq plus all the other Stan types whose stated objective is the annihilation of Jews and Israel.

No comparison.
The Palestinians are victims not perpetrators.

They didn't ask the Jews to invade their country.

Before the Zionist invasion of Palestine, Palestinians and Jews had lived along side each other for centuries.
It was the British who sold a country they didn't own to the Zionist movement in return for war loans and American support in WW1.
Ironically its those who support Jewish immigration into Palestine , are the one's who whine the most about immigration into their own country.

The German and Japanese people didn't ask the allies to drop millions of bombs, including two atom bombs, on their countries and invade them. They were also victims, but unfortunately were treated as part and parcel of the evil and dangerous regimes running those countries. What other choice was there if those regimes were to be removed from power?

The people of Gaza have fully supported and even elected their leaders, Hamas, who are extremely aggressive, dangerous and barbaric. They could have worked to create an economic development area and a new tourist destination on the Mediterranean... but no, they prefer to wage a permanent war, firing rockets day and night, and then go on a pre-modern gang raping escapade. Note, Hamas has it in their gift to surrender and release the hostages - they choose not to.

So I stand by my comparison.

The piffle about Britain's role in the creation of Israel is neither here nor there. Why don't you complain about the creation of Jordan at the same time? Or Pakistan? Or Bangladesh in the 1970s? All involved great upheaval.

Why are you specifically bothered about Israel's actions?

The latest updates from the IDF is that the 'gunman' was actually someone carrying what was probably a bag. They ran three separate strikes on three different vehicles as the tram tried to escape and extract their casualties because someone was carrying a bag. That's the targeting standards the IDF operate by.

Also the locations that the IDF gave were incorrect, based on the actual site of the wrecked vehicles.

Under an embargo? You kidding? The tourists were largely doctors and surgeon and other specialists working for free from a variety of countries. A rather common description of the Gaza strip is that it's an open air prison.

The seeds of HAMAS lies in the refugee camps a while ago. Don't think tents although currently due to displacement loads are living in them
  • Gaza Strip: The Gaza Strip has eight official and no unofficial refugee camps,[2] and 1,221,110 registered refugees.
  • West Bank: The West Bank has 19 official and four unofficial refugee camps,[2] and 741,409 registered refugees.
There are also farmers. Those in the West Bank have had land seized and access limited even roads that Palestinians can't use.

The international community and Israel would get behind a local desire to focus on economic development. The leaders of Gaza prefer to waste all available resources on permanent war. They would rather fire rockets throughout every day than build hotels and tourist attractions on the Med. Defend them all you like, they've had choices and made bad ones.
