Hi guys n gals,

Tackling some laminate, but its the first time iv come across these wooden door thresholds.

The carpet has just been laid, so modifying that is a no go.

What is the best way to deal with the expansion gap at this end?

They are at the door between bedroom and hallway, but also the built in wardrobe with the a runners in place. There is a second wardrobe on another wall but I could remove the wooden threshold for that one and just run the laminate into the wardrobe.

Is siliconing the gaps at these points the only option?

I was also thinking an Lbar so the carpet would be up against it as is but the laminate would have a gap under? Obviously just a pain getting the original out!

Iv given myself a headache thinking about it :( 20210103_153325.jpg 16096903440927549282557374704999.jpg

We use Quickstep incizo trims for that. Or stick a angle trim on top of the laminate so it rests above the wood threshold.
