Laminate Flooring in Kitchen. Expansion gaps

Hi there,

As part of my kitchen refit we are leveling the floor with latex then putting laminate down.

I understand the need for expansion gaps, which is why our skirting has been removed however I am uncertain what to do by the cover panel that holds the end of our work top up. It has the dishwasher/washing machine next to it.

Also, as it is in the kitchen do I need to seal any of the joints to aid moisture durability?

The end panel would normally be decorative with the unit supported on adjustable feet. If it's removable, ake it off, fit the floor,trim to suit and re-fit

What we will have, starting on the left:

Sink Unit - > Freestanding Dishwasher -> Freestanding Washing Machine -> Deco Panel

So the Deco panel will be used (along with a wall mounted batten) to hold the worktop that will span all of these white goods and the sink unit

I am planning to mount the end panel straight to the concrete floor/wall.

As this will be a non moving part, I'm unsure how to include the required expansion gap around it. Should I remove part of the deco panel?

If you can support from behind and use the deco panel as 'decoration' above the floor, you will have the strength and aesthetics.
