I had a builder duck and run after taking my money. He did a lot of work half heartily and now he’s not returning any calls.

I had the building inspector round who said the attempt of lateral restraining the new gable wall to the roof was poor and needed to be re-done. He hasn’t given me any specifics and has gone on holiday.

How do I improve these restraints or re do them to pass building regs.

Then you'll need to remove enough mortar to get the bent bit through to the cavity.

Noggins also required between the rafters above the straps.

Screws straight into thermalite blocks have zero hold. Are there any diagonal timbers linking all timbers?
