Laying out herringbone LVT

What's the best way to set this flooring out?

I'm about to lay some Polyflor LVT 9x3 parquet. I'm having a border. When setting out, would it be best to run the flooring parallel to longest wall? It runs down hallway, into kitchen, then turns 90 degrees into kitchen. I'm thinking parallel to the longest wall in hallway..... can't really use the 'centre of the room' rule cos it's a hallway into a kitchen....

The above is the view from the conservatory doors back up the hallway to the front door. (Kitchen on left)

Yeah I’d set that out in the hallway. Centre it between hall wall and stairs.
what ply is that? as long as it’s not Chinese you will be ok. Are you using feather finish screed on the joints ?

Yeah I'm gonna give the entire floor a skim coat of feather finish. No idea where the ply originated from, but Ive used used it everywhere else in my house with the same lvt, just not been done in herringbone prior to this

What adhesive you using. Uzin KE49 is a good one. It’s a hybrid HT / PS

I've used a Ball PS adhesive so far and it's been great. I'll stick wiv that. No direct sunlight so should be OK.

Yeah decent gear that. We only use ht these days so my lads can’t **** it up

Made a start on it and it's going OK so far. I'm a bit unsure about the border.... particularly the mitres for internal and external corners...... do you just do them all at 45 degrees or do you do a specific cut for each corner...... some of my walls are out of square by quite a few degrees.... the skirting aren't fitted yet, and the border is underlapping where the skirting will finish by about 10 mm, so plenty to play with.

Yeah every corner you do as close to 45 as you can.

Well, I suppose I could do em all Al bang on 45, or use mitre angle finder for each corner.... I take u normally do em 45 Daz?

I do front the corner of the skirts to the point where the planks cross each other

Finally finished it. Fitting it in between full time working. Happy with how it's turned out and a big thanks to Daz for answering the questions I had.

Really happy with the mat. It hides the hatch for the crawl space. I used an 8mm chrome tile trim that I lapped under the ply. It's one continuous piece that I've folded into a rectangle. The lip of the trim is almost perfectly flush with the vinyl.
