We have just taken a punt and bought a 2nd hand Bosch series 2 dishwasher from Facebook as old one had broken and too expensive to repair (sump needed replacing)

We fitted the new one and all is fine but under the sink the water inlet pipe is leaking/dripping

It wasn’t a problem we had with the previous machine and so wondered if anyone had any ideas. We have had to hand tighten as too restrictive to get a wrench in. (As you can see from the shot further back the water inlet is hidden and right behind everything.)

Are you sure the washer in that pipe fitting was a) in place b) in good order.

If it's been fitted to a different valve it may be crushed or deformed to fit that valve.

As above, check for washer in tact or indeed in there. Also check the nut doesn’t have a crack in it. Looks like a small pair of grips should fit in there.

Thank you both for your reply here is a few pictures. Should there be a washer that is missing?

Take the pipe off the tap. With a fine flat file evenly file across the open end of the tap to create a flat - 1 to 2 mm wide on the tap end. Replace the sealing washer in the hose ended re-attached.

Looking at the pictures in post 4 the existing washer is distorted and effectively worn out.

I went to get a washer and decided to replace the whole pipe as was not expensive and I was a bit concerned about the general condition of the the other one. I got this https://www.screwfix.com/p/washing-machine-inlet-hose-blue-2-5m-x-3-4-/10955
I have installed and the leak is no longer substantial. In fact it’s barely there however when I have the dishwasher on and pop a container on there is a very small amount of leakage. It feels wet around the connection but so little you want tell if it’s from the isolation tap or the pipe connection etc. I’m wondering if this leak w we as there before the new install as I am not sure I would have noticed it??
