Hi, I have a simple lighting circuit outside around some stables. They are fluorescent bulkhead type x 4. One broke in the middle so I've replaced it with an led bulkhead.

All fine but the LED doesn't need an earth. The previous ones did. Do I just connect the earth wires with a little connector and keep them in the new light fitting?

Also I'm going to replace all the older ones with leds ones eventually what do I do with the earth wire. Will it need to be disconnected or just left?

Thanks for your help

Yes, you will need to maintain the earth path, but it will need to be sleeved or otherwise protected.

Blup
