Libre Office Writer. Side-by-Side Display

I would like to display an original document side by side with
a new blank document, the purpose being to copy parts of the original
to the new blank sheet. At the moment I am confused as to the best simple way
to do this.

Hi,

Are you on windows?
I believe you can open more than one instance of Libre Writer.
Drag one instance to the right hand side of the screen and the other to the left; the windows should auto-scale to 1/2 a screen each.
