Is there any suggestions on how to build a lid door above stairs (leading to loft) using Electric tailgate gas struts or similar device. The idea is to be able to operate the lid door with a push of a button. Lid door approximate size is 900 x 2400 Weight 25- 30 Kg.

If it is just the door, look at linear actuators.
Basically a worm drive and electric motor.

the below will give an idea, although a bit rough.

My friend has an automatic loft opener for the hatch. Had it for several years now. Works a treat he said.

Its his wife! He just gets her to open the loft hatch for him when requested!

I've only ever been knocked out (technical KO, out cold for at least 10 secs) twice in my life.

First time was in a disco when I was about 19 or 20, the previous week I'd given a girl a lift home and possibly because of her Italian heritage, she wrongly assumed that we were engaged or something, so the following week at the same disco I was chatting to another girl and she cracked me across the head with her handbag which I think may have concealed a brick.

Second time, many years later was when those automatic spring latches on lofts were all the rage, push up once to disengage, push up again to lock which might take half a dozen attempts. Walking past one in someone's hallway, I was suddenly and unexpectedly ****ted on the side of the head by a loft hatch falling open, out cold.

So my personal preference is the fitting that comes with all loft ladders these days, quarter turn mechanically engaging lever, I avoid automated catches of any sort, and mental birds with bricks in their handbag.

All, thanks for your suggestions. Sorry, if it wasn’t clear. The lid is meant to be opening upwards at 90 degrees for access to the loft gym area. It will be located right above the permanent stairs. I just need help to find the right electric struts or linear actuator fit for this purpose. Thanks.

Something like these but the door much bigger 100 x 900 x 2400 / 30KG

A small, loft ceiling mounted winch, with rope from winch down to door?

The controls for that could be as simple as up/down buttons, motor running only when button pressed, or if limit switches were added - motor could run up/down, until door was fully open/closed, at a single press of each button.

Counterweights could be your friend, the weight inside the loft helping to lessen the load of the door.
To prevent the hatch banging in the wind you could have a grab h style rod to do/undo a catch when down, latching onto the catch and remaining attached to the catch when open.

Counterweights would reduce the force needed to open/close to simple pushes with a stick or much smaller motors.
