Hi all,
I installed some loft boards in the house a year or so ago, and am now worrying about the weight. Used approximately 12 of screwfixs' boards (pic attached ) in a rough L shape.
Some key details:
Joists are 600 mm apart
Joists are 38mm wide, 125 deep (rough measure)
Boards weigh 13kg a pack, approx 4 packs used. Spread over 6 joists.
Only light stuff up there (empty suitcases, old clothes, xmas decs.) I read somewhere that it was 25kg per square metre?
No signs of warping/flexing at all. Beams seemed straight when i checked.
It is in the centre of the loft, over the bathroom wall.
Total area is (approx) 2.1 metre long running with the joists, by 1800mm and the the foot of the "L" is another 4 1800 boards further on. Apologies if that is hard to visualise just wanted to provide the detail.
My question is is there too much up there? Does it need removing?
