I've got my loft dormer rendered instead of tiled as I think its much better in terms of maintenance, Looks and Sound as the wind does cause vertical tiles to move creating a load sound which is less than idea at night when your trying to sleep and the fact the wind can blow them off when strong enough Let me know when you think made a little video showing how it was done. www.DavidMarfe.com

Before tiled loft dormer this was a cowboy build the picture below no insulate rotting frame loads of rubbish underfloor Steels not bricked up elec just looked tidy on the outside but the internal were really bad.

New loft still under construction bigger Warmer more solid. Let me know if you think tiles would of been a better choice or you agree everyone’s got their own ideas when it comes to theses kind of things. I wanted the new loft to match the house more interms of window and door arrangements the bathroom windows above and below are the same size and they are in line with each other and the French doors are in line with where the window begins below

I had monocouche render on mine so it will never need painting either.
Have since sold the house, but still looks OK when I pass by!

Yeah I’ve notice when it gets windy the noise level are low now due to the wind not being about to knock the tiles about. Because there are none.
