Hello, just wondering if anyone can help me get my hedge trimmer working.

When I press the primer bulb it doesn't draw any fuel through the line

Any ideas guys?

Time for a carb overhaul I think but before we take you through that, just check that the two pipes that go into the fuel tank haven't actually split or parted......very common!
One has a filter on the end, the other is the fuel return to the tank which just has an open end.
John :)

Okay I will see if I can check the pipes, does it involve taking anything apart?

No, not at all - just unscrew the fuel filler cap and you'll see the fuel pipes within the tank.
Best to fish out the long one with the filter with a length of stiff wire for a good check.
Post back if you want to delve deeper!

Okay so I had a little look today but couldn't see anything obvious, do I need to remove the pipes to inspect them? they are fiddly to access.

The long pipe in s the only one you are interested in.....with the filler cap off you should be able to fish the pipe and filter out for a look see.

Only one of the pipes go into the fuel tank and it's way too short to fish out

Where does the other one go to then

Yep, that's the broken fuel pipe, and the thing above it is the filter.
The filter lies in the bottom of the tank, the pipe connects to the filter then passes through the rubber grommet and connects to the carburettor.
A simple and frequent repair!
Here's when the fun starts. The pipe needs to be the same diameter as the original, both inside and out. Replacement fuel pipe is available from GHS Ltd and you need the yellow stuff (I forget it's name for now!)
John :)

I found a replacement pipe on Spare Parts World so I can order it from there, there is a shipping fee so before I place the order is there anything else I need to get?
