Metal Face Plate Query - Should I Be Worried About This?

Hi, a few years ago I decided to replace my old plastic face plates with shiny, chrome ones. My backplates are metal, so I earthed each. However, fast forward a few years I’ve realised chrome really isn’t fingerprint friendly, so I’ve just gone to change them again only to find the old face plates have, what I can only describe, as burn marks primarily near the earth terminal but a little concerned that I’ve been living in a fire hazard for the last two years, and what I should do re the new (still metal) face plates? Any advice or guidance on this would be greatly appreciated :) thanks in advance!

Hi, no, it’s never tripped. I’ve added a few more but hard to show in photographs, it looks like burnt metal, which is concerning.

The rhyming slang for LAP products is CRxP

Without looking at them first hand, I would say its very poor metal rather than an electrical issue
 
Nickle chrome is electroplated onto steel, those are the contact points for the process, Its pretty quick for small thicknesses and you are seeing the heat residue of the process, in...buzz... out

This is handy to know, but it’s fairly common, and I shouldn’t worry? I just don’t want to have dodgy electrics especially if it’s of my own doing
 
Its the face plate not the electrics, its just a decorative cover... the electrics are all in the grey plastic. If a hairdryer had a paint defect on the body would you be concerned about the motor ?
