OK this surely must be a thread we all don't bitch over ;) maybe noone will contribute for that reason. That aside what happened to him i wonder.

I guess many of you must be aware of him being this presenter, into promoted life longevity by well being and reviewing certain health fads or reviewing tips on how to improve ones health, diet, sleep etc. And now he's dissapeared on a small hike whilst on hols with his wife.

Strange how some people come to an unexpected ending, i really hope he didn't end his life by doing something which was inherently risky to ones well being ie hiking in 40+c temps across rocky paths with no phone or water in case he got into issues.

He went missing Wed lunchtime, so i guess its becoming more likely he will appear in a body bag or he's skagged in rocks somehwere. Or perhaps he's looking for a big TV break and this is the lead up to his hit 'survival' show.

some of my diet has been influenced by him, I have a lot of time for what he has to say on the subject

Was he on Symi? I can’t see how you can get lost there. It’s a very small island with lots of tourists. When I originally heard. I thought it was Crete based on the location of Agios Nikolaos

Hundreds of ppl go missing everyday- they don't get any coverage.

Some never to be found. Some found dead.

Mosley was no exception.

I just hope that he didnt suffer in his last moments, imagine knowing you are dying and you can't say any last words to your loved ones.

Nightmare. I hate the thought of dying alone.

But fancy going without his phone and water.

By all accounts, he was a highly educated man but going for a walk, alone, in unknown territory in 40 degrees heat without his phone and water reinforces a point I made a while back about education and common sense not necessarily going hand in hand.

Meh, more to this than a simple lack of commons sense I think, we'll ever know of course, he absolutely knew all about risk. Bloody bizarre that's for sure. He must have seen that restaurant in his final moments and thought he was saved but then to not make it. Jeez.

Blimey, I’ve just seen on the news how they found his body and it was by accident. A TV crew were filming the mayor about the search for him with some mountains in the background. When they edited it, they saw his body on the mountain!

I stand by my earlier statement though about educated people and common sense. His wife said this:

"We’re taking comfort in the fact that he so very nearly made it," his wife said in her statement.
"He did an incredible climb, took the wrong route and collapsed where he couldn’t be easily seen by the extensive search team."

What sort of person takes on an "incredible climb" without telling anybody and with no equipment including a phone and water?

He had a bottle of water when he was found. I wouldn't be surprised if there were no phone signal, so no point carrying his phone to drop. He wasn't on any mountain where they found him. He didn't "not tell anyone", though he may have taken a wrong turn.

He said a few years ago that he had a partial heart blockage, and no male in his family had made it past 72. He was 67, diabetic.
A few things, like a 10 metre fall, have been mentioned in single places. There's grainy footage of him climbing down the rocks, though. Next day or two...

It's sad. Everyone says he was a good man, and that was my feeling.
