Hi,

I'm missing the key for a mortice lock on a Victorian door which has a knob with rose etc.

I removed the lock, it's very large and thick steel with some brass parts, could be original.

I think the case is welded, any way to replace part of the inside to allow a replacement key to work?

Otherwise where can I obtain a replacement to simply slot in with a new set of keys?

Thanks in advance!

what are the dimensions

(1) of the case

(2) from the centre of the keyhole to the front plate
and the centre of the spindle to the front plate

measured like this:

also measure it in imperial, to the nearest eighth of an inch, for that will be how it was made.

Do you want a secure strong lock? Or a bedroom lock?

Photograph the other side. There is probably a screw holding the two halves of the case together, or if cheap manufacture, folded-over steel tabs
