Hi

My husband and I have recently completely ripped out our bathroom and installed a new one. Father in law did the pipe work for the new stuff, and we have replaced our old electric shower with a bar mixer shower, which we finished fitting last night.

When turning it on, the water runs fine for about twenty seconds and then drops down to a trickle. All other taps are fine.

Went downstairs and have also noticed that the boiler is shutting off as the pressure in the shower goes. But again, no other issues with the boiler supplying anywhere with hot water.

Our first thought was an air lock or a blockage somewhere but then the water pressure is fine for the first twenty seconds or so?
Any thoughts on what this could be?

I would check the hot and cold supplies to the shower are the right way round.

I'm not that in the know with plumbing so sorry to ask but how would this influence this? There is only one handle to control the temperature on the bar mixer. And although I didn't do the pipework myself (husband would know so I can ask him in a bit) I would assume it runs off the same stuff as the bath?

The thermostat in the shower relies on the hot and cold being the right way round, the vast majority of showers have cold on the right and hot on the left ( cant think of one that's different)

Checked this last night and although they were plumbed in correctly, my genius husband left the cold water isolated....at least this was an easy fix! Thank you!
