Mobile for Pensioner

I have a pensioner friend who would like to buy a mobile 'phone.
This would be used only for making emergency calls and (maybe) texts.
Would be grateful for advice on a decent (cheap) PAYG machine to suit him.

i purchased a Doro mobile a few years ago for an elderly lady - latest seems to be Doro 6620
As she had been bought an iphone and could not get on with it

just wanted something easy to use, take a photo or 2 , texts and calls

2G phone can text. Just search for a PAYG deal. I am on "3" because it was cheapest at the time. £10 lasts me 10 years. I am more an email kinda guy.
