Monsoon pump - anyone have a spares donor? Need brass pushfit inlet stem.

As per title,
Brass stem on inlet has pushfit connection at top to take hose.
It connects to pump and holds the filter.

This is leaking and spares obsolete so just wondering if anyone has a donor unit in their shed?

Plumbers mainly but if you have one that would be great.

Just a thought - the pushfit grab ring should be removeable, then it's just a case of replacing the O-Rings with ones the right size? These came with with the original service kit I believe but I'm sure compatible replacements could be found? Cant remember if the grab rings are destroyed during removal or not though.

The pushfit hose is corroded in and someone's had a go at it before as there's grip marks on the brass body!
Think it might be weeping there now I've disturbed it FFS!

Filter was blocked but couldn't get it out due to hose corroded in! Backflushed it clean in the sink but it weeps when all back together! FFS again!

Ah right, crap - that's a weird one tho as they should all be brass/SS, both the hose end and the socket, guess it's crusty scale?

So you need the full brass push fit end with the internals too? Guess it would need a new flexi too but they're obsolete now too I believe as the new ones are a screw fit.

Just another thought though, is it the inlet or the outlet/flowswitch end? They look as if they use exactly the same screwed down brass shaped ring and seal fitting into the impeller housing as the old one does, may be worth a chat to ST and check the size as you may be able to swap the old out for a new type with the threaded end and then the new screw on flexi would fit that too.

After waiting on hold for 25mins, I got through to ST.

Was told obsolete and that they can't give me sizes but they're all different now Hmmmnnnn!

Why would they go to all that bother re-tooling when they have a very similar looking part?

Anyway, as it happens, I went to my stores and found a busted pump I took out some time ago... It's the newer version with the male thread for the hose... I have both inlets and hoses for it, so I could give it a go!

Mate also told me he's just taken out a fully working new one that's only 3 years old as he's putting in a combi.

They can have it off him for £120 plus my labour to fit.

However, they're now talking about a new one but I'd have to do a fair amount of work to make it comply with MI's for warranty... Or, as it's a swap only, do I "need" to do that?

Personally, I think they should go for the second hand one but, just want to get paid for what I've done so far, within reason and not eff about any further!

The brass spigots of the hoses I was "able" to remove were scaled up and had very hard deposits at grab ring position must be a noble metal thing!... Cleaned them up and needed Stanley blading clean as well as abrasive strip!

yes for sure - all they seemed to have changed, essentially, was threading the outside of the brass fitting to take a female flexi end rather than it being a pushfit fitting to take a male flexi. As you say, why go to the cost of changing the design of the stuff that works fine just to change a flawed pushfit socket, to a threaded end.

yeah, understand that, it's now at the point when it's costing extra time/cost, to sort something that should have been relatively quick and easy, never good
