More EU bureaucracy

Typical

I recall years ago that they brought out some policy that would have effectively put a good few car companies in the UK out of bussiness (?)

The UK had to seek an exemption to stop it

"originating from the European Commission and yet to be ratified"

Says the link.

So just a rumour.

"...specifies conditions under which a vehicle is deemed technically irreparable or residual. These include extensive damage, such as being cut, welded, burnt, submerged, or exhibiting irreversible technical defects."

How unreasonable.

Rumours spread by unreliable sources like yourself.

You've got a little crown on your beer glass, why are you still whining?

If and when you have an EU regulation to link, try again.

But as you do not live in the EU, it is of course irrelevant.

But we left the EU and we are now all millionaires and can afford new cars every year - so who cares?

Brexit Benefit we are all millionaires now.

Here it is

Proposal for a REGULATION OF THE EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT AND OF THE COUNCIL on circularity requirements for vehicle design and on management of end-of-life vehicles, amending Regulations (EU) 2018/858 and 2019/1020 and repealing Directives 2000/53/EC and 2005/64/EC

it doesn't ban the repair or restoration, it bans the disposal of the old parts making the repair probably impossible.

Which begs the question of how do you get rid of the car then

EU have been poking there noses into the classic car scene for years

Had some of there ballcocks gone un checked
Dozens of car manus would have been shut down

Some of there regs on working or modifying your own car are that stringent it’s virtually impossible

Hence why there is or was a healthy market in EU citizens coming to the UK to purchase specialist cars
