Not bad for my first attempt at, self taught, wood turning. Even if I say so myself!
Made a few mistakes along the way but with patience have learnt a lot from those errors. Hope now to find a local instructor to teach me properly but the nearest one seems to be over 50 miles away and over £200 for a days tuition.

Looks good :). I’d keep going yourself.

Is there a picture on your table?

That's a work island in the kitchen which we built and my wife, who is a Harry potter fan, etched a picture of Dobby into it with a burner.

Don't pay watch You Tube. These are some of my first attempts. I'm into making pens at the moment. Bit expensive for the bits, especially when you consider that you pick up a perfectly good writing implement in Wilkos for a few pence but satisfying none the less.

What types of wood are these Pete and where do you source your blanks?
I particularly like the small dish in the centre with the heartwood running through the centre line.
