Help please!
hi everyone noticed my heater wouldn’t blow warm air a few days ago. Checked the coolant level a few days ago and it was empty. Filled it up and went to use the car today and it’s totally empty. Went on a short journey of 35 miles during which the heat was almost unbearable in the car (4c outside!) checked the levels again, and it was empty,

Get the leak repaired

As you have been neglecting it the engine may also need repair. Typically a warped cylinder head.

Do not keep driving it with low water

If you are lucky it will just be a rubber hose.

Does your car not have gauges or warning lights?

Thanks JohnD,

would it be safe to put radweld in the reservoir to see if that works?

No. That will not mend a burst pipe or a warped head.

Open the oil filler cap. What does it look like?

Is the oil level surprisingly high (or low)?

If you can't repair it yourself, book it into a garage. Do it now.

If it is a leak then get it fixed as suggested or you may be in for an expensive time, it may well be too late already though.

Fill it up again, run the engine and see if you can spot any leaks. Check hoses and joints. Is there much steam from the exhaust? If you cant see any leaks it could be the head gasket especially after this cold snap. Did you have anti freeze in?

Don't use rad weld its a waste of money and rarely works. Better spending it to get your car fixed.
