Neighbors guttering lets out on my roof

Hey, not sure if this was the correct place to ask this, but I've noticed that our neighbors guttering let's out over our roof just above the down pipe for our guttering. Is that legal? I only ask as with heavy rain recently we've had water coming in through the window and frame just where our houses join.

Any advice is very much appreciated!

Doesn’t seem right to me. Do they have their own down pipe at the other end? I share a down pipe front and rear with my neighbour. Perhaps they could have their own down pipe that tees into yours below your gutter?

are there other similar houses in the road - you may be able to see the setup on other similar houses if a small estate of the same build

Hey, there is a down pipe but only another 3 houses down so we are getting way more than our houses rain. Yeah that's a good solution, and a bit cheaper so our neighbors might go for that. Thanks!

Unfortunately ours is the only house with this step down, might hope on to the flat roof see if I can see any more further away.

Looks like you have the wrong outlet too?
I assume it's a deepflow gutter and an outlet for half round?

Down pipe should be linked via a joint as currently it’s flushing up the roof which can allow it under the tiles .

It looks odd as it is stepped.
We rent out a house, EoT which is one of four. the downpipe on the rear was shared ie next doors back garden roof water down our drain pipe but not the front.

Looks funny as it is stepped and new.

In my jusgement and I've not a roofer etc but have owned several properties, the roofer saved a few quid and time and not put a return on the outlet so the water came out almost on the tiles facing the gutter rather than someone peeing on your roof.

You must avoid discharging a downpipe onto another roof, doubly so if it's not discharging directly down slope or if it's close to a flashing or detail.
And triply so if it's a large area on the upper roof.
So no wonder it's causing an issue!
I would say either tee it in below, or discharge both downpipes into an open hopper below.
Who pays is the next question! It won't be super costly, bodging it like that would have saved 5 pounds and a couple of fittings, and maybe a trip to Wickes...
